Bill Cawley briefly programmed for IBM in 1966, but started programming on his own account in 1982 when he wrote a '4th Generation Language' which was used on 4000 farms to run Farmplan Accounting and Dairy software. He subsequently wrote 'Ark' and 'Toto' - OLAP software used by many top companies, including HSBC to do their central consolidation, and De Beers, to apportion diamonds for their 'sights'. In later years he, with his son, founded Feefo, the independent feedback site, but has now left Feefo and intends to develop further the 'Ark/Toto' model database as 'Azquo', and entirely new form of database that uses the power of modern servers to make it easy to merge data and obtain fast reports. Edd Cawley, Bill's son, is a highly accomplished Java programmer, who has worked with large organisations, worked in Siberia with offshore programmers, and lead development of software in smaller companies, notably Feefo which he co-founded with his father.
